Shadow of the Colossus the Movie!

So its been confirmed that Sony (shocker) has picked up the rights for a Shadow of the Colossus movie. So those of you who know, that was a fucking amazing game, with amazing art direction for the PS2 that has been out for a couple of years now. While this news excited me upon first hearing about it, after further thinking I don't know what to think about it. Most of the game is no more than running around on a horse. The rest is actually fighting the colossus. There is almost no story. What are they going to do about that? They better not bastardize the movie, because I loved the game. Its an intriguing, yet frightening, concept. Let's hope this is a fantastical movie with no bastardization. It will be awesome to see what they can do with the ginormity of the colossi v. a small man. It was just announced though, who knows if it will actually see the light of day. Even if it does, it'll be at least 2 years.

On the topic of movies, Gary Oldman has reportedly been spotted on the set of Iron Man 2. The same Gary Oldman who appears in Warner Bros' Batman and Harry Potter franchises. Someone at corporate won't like that one. This is just a speculation, but he is thought to be playing Howard Stark (Tony's father). The cast includes awesome talent such as Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke and Samuel Mother Fucking Jackson. This little diddy is scheduled to come out on May 7, 2010. Marvel owns May.

Crazy Road Trip

After watching Fanboys, and from watching many other "road trip" movies, I wish I could just take the most random trip for the most random reason. I want to take you guys along for some random trip across the country for some insane reason. Along the way, it'd be awesome to run into the most random people and do the most random things. Learning all sorts of crap the whole way. In the end, finding the girl of my dreams and maybe even finding a new job. Oh wait, what am I saying? My life isn't a movie. I'd probably make it to Indiana and realize I have to work on Monday and that my life isn't exciting. I also don't have the luck to do something completely insane and have it work in my favor that well. Dammit, movies! I want a fun adventure without going to jail or losing my job...unless good things come out of it...which is never in real life.

I just need more excitement in my life than the same shit week in and week out. I need to go to Vegas, that seems like a good time. Good things happen there, right?

Dream Line-up for Lollapalooza 2009

Headliners:
-Red Hot Chili Peppers (still haven't seen them live)
-Muse (want to see them live, but people will scoff and say they are the poor man's Radiohead, because people suck)
-Nine Inch Nails (oh yeah, they fucking rock)

Other nominees:
-Rush
-Foo Fighters (still haven't seen them live)
-311 (because they rock at festivals)
-Incubus (because tripping + watching them = jizz in my pants)
-Umphrey's Mcgee (probably not festivally enough for them though)
-Jane's Addiction
-Metallica
(maybe that's just me)
-Smashing Pumpkins
(if they still rock?)

In My Dreams Pick:

LED ZEPPELIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Earlier Sets:
-Raconteurs
(would make me jizz in my pants at least 3 times every song)
-Tenacious D
-No Doubt
(if they play their early stuff and Gwen Stefani is naked)
-Freezepop
-Alice Cooper
(odd, I know, but I hear he still puts on a great show)
-Alter Bridge
(that's probably just me)
-Wolfmother
(put on a good show)
-Black Tide
(I like their crazy guitar riffs)
-Blind Melon
(if they are still a band...?)
-DJ Shadow
(...if only it went on past 10...)
-STS9
(10pm...fucking Chicago rules)
-Girl Talk

-The Knux
(dunno, they could be good)
-The Living End (they are a fun band to listen to)
-The Mars Volta (I'm slowing getting to like them, sure a live show would persuade me further)

Not Gonna Happen Pick:
-Alice In Chains (great band, but Lane Staley can't be replaced)
-Audioslave (Fucking Chris Cornell...you had a good thing going)
-Velvet Revolver (where's the singer? I need me some Slash)

The "What? Too Soon?" Pick:
Stevie Ray Vaughn (what greatness that would have been)

This is assuming I can even go...

Where Did My Free Time Go?

I'm in the process of buying a new car, and fuck, my job is making it INCREDIBLY difficult to close the deal. At the same time, its the same job that's giving me the money to be able to buy this car. Catch-22. The dealership I'm buying (maybe) the car from is closed on the weekends and for the next couple of weeks I'm only going to have weekends off. What the fuck? I have to do everything over the phone, which sucks. I guess its doable, but not very easy. This is not a light purchase, I need to be there to figure out everything about the car and make a final say. God dammit.

If you can't tell, I'm pretty ticked off. I'm buying this car because I have this job and a lease doesn't cut it. I got a little help by having Monday (2 days ago) off, but that wasn't enough. I might have this coming Monday off, but that's still up in the air. God, I hope so.

So, this got me thinking how much I DON'T want to do this forever. I just want to get out of the food service industry. It can get so fucking annoying. I know at some point Kiznox and I are planning to own a JJs or two, with the ultimate goal of owning a bar (which are all in the food industry, I know). But, for now, I really want to get away. Take some 9-5 job and have nights and weekends off. Not just weekends. Its cool traveling and all (right now I'm in Orlando and its gorgeous outside), but it wears on you when you want to do something and aren't able to.

I guess really all I want is the ability to take time off. Such as personal time off, sick time, or vacation anytime I want (not when they tell me). But I get no such luxury, because I'm in the food service industry. I don't even have a cap on the hours I work. I'm working about 50 hours per week, which doesn't even include travel. Eventually I'll be able to pretty much make my own hours and work about 35-40 hours per week, but who knows when that will happen. Hopefully before Lollapalooza (if the lineup rocks), so I can actually go (if the lineup rocks).

I don't want to take some mind-numbing job in a cubicle, but I do want to get away from the food service industry. The only problem is that I have no skills or redeeming qualities that would make me a better candidate than the next person. So basically I'm stuck. I'm stuck and I can't wedge my way out. I guess, in this economy, I'm glad I have a decent paying job...or a job period. But, if it was in any other industry, I think I would be happier. Even if it was sucking out my soul. Just for a little while...

Today's "What if..."

If you were given three wishes, what would you wish for?

The ultimate question right? One we all hope we get one day but do we actually think about what we want?

After a break

I have decided to add another question to the blog this week:

What if one song were to describe your life? Which song would it be?

Think long and hard about this one...I know I am going to.

Back to business

After a long weekend, let's test your minds to see if they are still working properly.

What if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life? Which song would you choose?

I'm going to have to think about that myself.

Happy Friday!

Because I "steal" the good answers, I am going to wait to respond to today's "What if?" question...wouldn't want to upset Goerg ;)

What if you could hear what someone is thinking for a day? Who would you choose?

I'm interested to hear the results of this one...

Let's try again

Since Hock was the only one to respond to the first one, let's see if this one sparks interest.

What if you could committ a crime and get away with it? What crime would you committ?

I would have to say robbing a bank or something along those lines. Financial security thanks to money that is now tax free!! Hells yeah.

Let's try something new...

I want to gather discussion about something as often as I can, since I struggle to contribute to this blog recently. What I was thinking, and this can lead to reply postings or comments to this posting, is to give a scenario or situation and see what we would all do. I usually do the Weekly WYR but let's mix it up a little bit.I have a whole list so I will try to post one a day.

What if you could be invisible for a day? What would you do and why?

Let's hear what you would do guys!

I think I would probably turn into a creeper, but who wouldn't when they were invisible? Honestly though, I would mess with people all friggin day. Freak a lot of people out, make them think there are ghosts, especially some people that I KNOW deserve it. Why would I do that? Because I'm invisible, you try to find me to tell me it's wrong :) Oh, when I'm not messing with people, I'm watching hot chicks undress. Did I really have to say it? No, you were all thinking it...
