First off, Hock, don't tell me what to do. I haven't posted on the CFuck in a while because it was going in this "My Life Sucks" direction...and that ain't my bag. But I read anything and commented, so isn't that enough?

I have barely reached over half way through the next batch of 50 movies. I have stopped cramming them into my day, mostly because I fall asleep super early and never have anytime to do so. So I'll post these twenty some odd movies for your enjoyment.

Cream of the Crop: Fanboys, Under The Hood/Tales of the Black Freighter, I Love You, Man, Twilight, The Ice Harvest, Monster vs. Aliens 3D, The Last Kiss, Adventureland, Observe and Report, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, Push

Comments: As far as the Watchmen side stories are concerned, Black Freighter was boring (and not how I remember it in the novel), but Under The Hood was awesome and really well done. It was definitely a good extra. Observe and Report was surprisingly serious and dark, very good. Claudio and I saw MvA3D on shrooms...it rocked. I saw I Love You Man in theatres twice with Claudio (but he only saw it 1 time and ten minutes of the other). Rudd/Segel combination hit it off the charts! I did enjoy Twilight, but not as much as all the hype. I have been on a Kristen Stewart kick as of late, I think she is a great actress and a fox, in that grungy rock chick way that I like so much! Push had a really interesting take on the super hero thing. It's worth a watch.

Middle of the Road: Nick of Time, Sould Out: A Threevening with Kevin Smith, Factory Girl, The Tracey Fragments, PS I Love You, Hitch, T2: Judgement Day, Marley & Me, In The Land of Women

Comments: Factory Girl was the story of Edie Sedgewick and Andy Warhol and it was really great except for that Bob Dylan was played by Hayden "Ruins Movies" Christiensen! He can't act! PS I Love You and Marley were terribly sad. Sold Out was very funny but his stories were extremely long winded.

Swing and a Miss: Bride Wars, Arthur and the Invisibles, The Sandlot 3: Heading Home, The Fountain, Bottoms Up

Comments: True Story, Claudio and I watched Bride Wars and not two weeks later, I redownloaded it not even thinking I had ever seen it. How bad must that movie be? Bottoms Up had Jason Mewes in it, so it had promise, but the acting and writing was bad on it, so thumbs down. The Fountain was too confusing for me to get into. Sandlot 3 plot: Luke Perry goes back in time to save the sandlot...and to set his life right.

I got the internets working and the time to type something, so here it goes

No...wait...oh, damn, I got nothing really.


Wolverine was a decent movie, but the special effects on the claws were laughable. LAUGHABLY BAD! That is inexcusable in today's world where special effects are beyond spectacular. This movie had a huge budget, yet the claws looked 1000 times better in the first Xmen movie, which came out 9 years ago! The rest of the movie was pretty decent though, despite the 107 minute run time.

Star Trek on the other hand, was PHENOMENAL! I was never a fan of Star Trek, but this movie is definitely a winner. It is a re-imagining of the original story, with a shit-ton more action and a good script. This movie may win over those (like myself) who previously hated the series, and with good reason. This movie rocks! Everyone played their parts exceptionally well. I didn't even know Eric Bana was the bad guy, Nero. I suggest everyone sees it, especially you Claudio. I know it'll make you go from 6 to midnight.

I also hate Sports Center's Top 10 not listing Jiri Hudler's goal from yesterday's Red Wings game anywhere in there. He slapped the puck out of the air for a goal. I don't watch SC very often, so if it's the Top 10 from today only, then that's just stupid. Fuck you, fuckers

Well, it's been about forty-some-odd days since I listed the most recent, previously unseen movies. So i have averaged about one new movie per day, but there are a few days that I didn't watch any and some that I watched as much as four! Well here goes another chronicle in my life.

Cream of the Crop:
Watchmen, Miss March, Sex Drive, Into the Wild Green Yonder, Young People Fucking, Dead Poet's Society, Eagle vs. Shark, The Fall, Coraline 3D, Employee of the Month, Planet B-Boy, Flash of Genius, There Will Be Blood, Cider House Rules

Comments: Watchmen was obviously freakin sweet, it had it all. Into the Wild... was hilarious and definitely did the end of the Futurama series proud! YPF is a series of hilarious sexual situations (including the Exes, the Friends, or the Roomates...nicey-nice). Employee of the Month is NOT the Dane Cook film, it is a story about a man who loses it and decided to shoot up his work...very funny. Eagle vs. Shark stars Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords and it illustrates just how amazing awkward love can be. The final three in that list are great if you really want some damn good drama lead by amazing casts.

Decent:
Havoc, Bottle Shock, Good Dick, Grind, W, The World's Fastest Indian, Religulous, Life, What We Do Is Secret, American Psycho, Boiler Room, Mothman Prophecies, That Thing You Do!, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Crash

Comments: The best ones out of these are: Mr. Ripley (creepy), Mothman (wake up, number 27), and American Psycho (gives new thoughts about Huey Lewis). Crash had an amazing group of actors. W definitely surprised me. It ended up getting sort of weird near the end. Havoc has Anne Hathaway's titties like 3 times. Saweeeet!

Could Have Been Better / Okay:
Pathology, The Birdcage, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Stealing Harvard, Still Waiting..., The Return of Jafar, Extreme Movie, Valkyrie, Valiant, Chapter 27, The Tale of Despereaux, Dickie Roberts Former Child Star, The Da Vinci Code, The Happening, Untraceable, Bedtime Stories

Comments: The two sequels (Jafar and Still Waiting...) severely lacked against their originals, but had their moments. The Genie is voiced by Dan Castellaneta (Homer J[ay] Simpson). Betime Stories was only PG, which showed. I thought Paul Blart was going to be hilarious, but it ended up dragging. Da Vinci Code had no subtitles when I downloaded it, so I don't really know what happened (any help?). Untraceable would have been better with a stronger ending. It was about a killer who would put his victims online in some sort of contraption and the more people visited the site, the faster the victim would die. It is a good premise, but the killer should have suffered more.

Bottom of the Barrel:
Open Season 2, An American Carol, Zoom, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Sandlot 2

Comments: BLECH! Crap! The best one out of these was Zoom with Tim Allen! The Sandlot 2 (yes, there is a second one...and a THIRD one!) was basically the same exact plot as the first one, just done shittier with different characters in a different decade.

Crazy Road Trip

After watching Fanboys, and from watching many other "road trip" movies, I wish I could just take the most random trip for the most random reason. I want to take you guys along for some random trip across the country for some insane reason. Along the way, it'd be awesome to run into the most random people and do the most random things. Learning all sorts of crap the whole way. In the end, finding the girl of my dreams and maybe even finding a new job. Oh wait, what am I saying? My life isn't a movie. I'd probably make it to Indiana and realize I have to work on Monday and that my life isn't exciting. I also don't have the luck to do something completely insane and have it work in my favor that well. Dammit, movies! I want a fun adventure without going to jail or losing my job...unless good things come out of it...which is never in real life.

I just need more excitement in my life than the same shit week in and week out. I need to go to Vegas, that seems like a good time. Good things happen there, right?

Well, hello everybody! Sorry I don't post more, but all I do is sit around and watch movies. So the only really interesting posts I do are these. I have seen another 50 movies never before seen by my gorgeous brown and white orbs. I hope you guys have some feedback about some of these movies. And as always, feel free to ask me about any of them and I will let you know whether or not I think a movie is worthy of your time. Let's get it on!

Very Good: Good Will Hunting, Real Time, Ghost Town, Winter Passing*, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Yes Man*, Flakes*, Choke, Milk, The Go-Getter*, Eulogy*, What's Eating Gilbert Grape

Comments: Five out of these movies have Zooey Deschanel in it (with *). I don't know if I just really like her as an actress or if she just picks really excellent movies (or both!). I would definitely recommend Flakes (about a cereal bar) and Eulogy (lots of family dysfunction). Milk, the story of the 1st elected official to be openly gay, took my breathe away. It was brilliant. Real Time is about a man (Jay Baruchel) who owes a lot of money to bad people and given only an hour or so to live by Randy Quaid. The movie is then shot in real time from then on. Cool flick.

Good: Man of the Year, October Sky, Shadow of the Vampire, The Sword in the Stone, The Rutles: All You Need is Cash, Just Buried, War Inc, The Air I Breathe, Punch-Drunk Love, Grosse Pointe Blank, RocknRolla, Slumdog Millionaire, Rocket Science, Romeo + Juliet, The Day the Earth Stood Still

Comments: These films had a lot of good action and drama, but some of them couldn't keep my attention. I fell asleep during: RocknRolla, Slumdog Millionaire twice, and The Day the Earth... twice (once in theatres, once at home). If people like the Beatles, then I think they should watch, The Rutles. It is some of the Monty Python guys doing a parodyin the '70s...comedy gold.

Not So Good: The French Connection, The Spirit, The Rutles 2: Can't Buy Me Lunch, Max Payne, The Object of my Affection, The Ringer, Friends with Money, The Shapes of Things, Igor, Dirty Love, American Wedding, Better Off Dead, Quantum of Solace, What Just Happened, Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa

Comments: In my eyes, sequels never hold up, here are some examples: Rutles 2 = not as good as the first. Quantum dragged. American Wedding was not even close to the first. Madagascar 2 should have been left overseas. Other than that, The Ringer had its moments and didn't come off as too offense for being a movie about Johnny Knoxville pretending to be retarded. The only saving graces for Max Payne (definitely not the storyline): Mark Wahlberg is a badass and Mila Kunis is hot.

Bad: RV, My Boss's Daughter, Death Race, How to Eat Fried Worms, The Night Flier, Failure to Launch, Lakeview Terrace, The Invasion

Comments: A bunch of garbage films. Death Race was exactly like a video game. Failure.. was just that. Lakeview Terrace was 90 minutes of Sam jackson being terribly racist and stubborn. Boo that. The Invasion and Night Flier were poor excuses for scary movies.

Well, thar she is. If you guys have any suggestions on a movie that you have seen that I should see, let me know. I am always down for whatever cinema ya got for me. Big ups!

Comments: Zack and Miri and Role Models are definite hits, but I think I would only see Bolt if it was in 3-D. Hamlet 2 dragged in the first half, but really got me laughing with the performance. After Sex = hot Mila Kunis girl/girl action part.

Comments: There were a bunch of movies that didn't quite make it because they only had "moments": Harold, My Best Friend'd Girl, I Could Never Be Your Woman (mostly from Paul Rudd), etc. I would definitely recommend the first 5 or 6 movies, though.

Not So Bad

Sweet November, Employee of the Month, The Holiday, The Promotion, Bladerunner, The Pagemaster, Radio Flyer, Hollywoodland, The Hammer

Comments: All of these movies only had their moments. You would have thought with John C. Reilly and Sean William Scott in The Promotion it would have been funny, but it was just boring at times.

Bad
The Black Dahlia, The Pink Panther, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mad Money, Over Her Dead Body, The Mutant Chronicles, Postal, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Fly Me to the Moon, Soap Dish

Comments: These aren't really worth any time. Here's why: The Black Dahlia is just terrible and confusing, Journey to the... has parts in it that are physically impossible and scientifically inaccurate, and maybe Fly Me to the Moon would have been better in 3-D, but it was so not funny I will never know.

Amazing Actors: Paul Rudd

I'm going to start a new series. It's called "Amazing Actors" and it spotlights the most amazing actors you can think of. This is a prestegious award, though, not just anyone can be nominated. The actor you choose must earn this honor. My inagural pick is Paul Rudd. You may remember him from such roles as David in the 40 Year Old Virgin, Pete in Knocked Up, and more recently Danny Donahue in Role Models. He is at his best in the latter. He is everything I strive to be...in terms of being a sarcastic, but witty asshole. Not an asshole in a bad way, more like just having a very funny comeback to anything you can throw at him. Watch any of his movies and he is just brilliant. I dare you to hate him. He was amazing as a stoner in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. ..."Oh the weather outside is weather"....hahahaha! Anyways, Goerg and I have been watching many movies with Paul Rudd in it and I gotta say, he is consistently an amazing actor. Watch The Ten, The Oh in Ohio, and Role Models and tell me he's not brilliant. I fucking love the guy. I think I'd go gay for Paul Rudd. He's everything I love: he's cynical, sarcastic, and above all, HILARIOUS!

My future (I mean skin) is so bright, I need shades.

New Stuff From My Brain

I'm gonna start off with the story of Paul Newman. He died over the weekend, at the age of 83. Now, I haven't seen much of his work, but I thought he was a cool guy. He used to race cars and act and started up a food company as a joke. A joke that raised over $100 million for charity. He was an amazing man, and I'm sure he'll be sorely missed.

Scarlett Johannsen and Ryan Reynolds got married over the weekend, in Canada. First off, I didn't even know they were dating. Secondly, good job Ryan Reynolds, that's definitely a step up from Alanis Morrisette.

Here's something I haven't done in a while:
Earlier today I saw Eagle Eye. My initial reaction was pure excitement. But after reading some reviews, I'm thinking otherwise. The story is rather thrilling. Everything moves at a rather quick pace, which keeps things exciting but also keeps you going "what the fuck just happened?" Once you figure out what's going on though, you're just like "oh, I knew that was going to happen." Also, the chase scenes are on full throttle, but are shot in a shaky camera way to where things are just thrown around without much logic and with no regard for any innocent person's safety. There are some obvious movie flubs, one notably stands out in my mind: when LeBeouf gets into a gray Sebring that mysteriously turns into a black Avenger by the next scene. That's lazy film-making. I did like LeBeouf's performance in this movie. He brings a certain charm and charisma to any movie he's a part of. He helps the movie with his acting, even with the ridiculous plot. Michelle Monaghan is uber hot and quite charming, if kinda wooden. Billy Bob seems out of place in his role, but he was alright. Rosario Dawson and Michael Chiklis did decent enough jobs. Oh, and Ethan Embry also made a comeback for anyone who was missing him from their lives, but I couldn't have cared less about his character. All-in-all, it was an acceptable techno-thriller with some exciting thrills, but everything seems to work out too perfectly. I give it about a 5/10 and a half assed review.

Tonight I also watched the second season premiere of Californication on Showtime. I'm probably gonna download the first season and wished I had Showtime for the second season, because that show is fucking hilarious. I have a renewed faith in David Duchovny.

Besides going out to watch Eagle Eye, I did absolutely nothing today, but I have watched Clerks II about 4 times in the past week.

Well, I have a week left down here. I can't wait to come back to Okemos. See ya bitches next week.

Hey You Guuuuuyys!

Am I running this thing all by myself now? You're all lame. Post something, I don't care what it is, just stop leaving me hanging. Here, I'll help you out. Answer questions like: what are you up to these days, what movies/concerts have you seen lately, what do you think about the economy, how's school/work going, how many beers have you drank lately? I don't fucking care, just post. EVERYONE! Especially you, Rambo!

Here's my story. I'm stuck in this hotel with nothing to do and no money to do anything anyways because I can't cash this fucking check. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, because I was told I can go to a currency exchange. Hopefully that works.

I wish training was over with, because I'm just repeating things I already know. Luckily I'll be able to live at the apartment for the next 2 months when I get back. So I get to hang out with Goerg and the guys who can't type (yes, that's you, Claudio and Kiznox) for at least 2 months. It'll be great to finally be out of this hotel. The fucking wireless here sucks swamp ass. At around this time at night, the fucking internet slows down so much that I can't even open the homepage with barely anything on it. Pitiful.

I haven't watched any new movies lately, except for about 75% of Zodiac, because I fell asleep. Waking up at 5:30 every morning sucks. I did watch Heroes though. Gotta say, some of the things felt rushed and were very odd, but overall the episodes were rocking hardcore. I can't wait for the season to unfold. I wish I was able to watch Always Sunny, but I can't because this hotel doesn't have FX and the internet is slower than dial-up.

The economy sucks and I hope we don't get screwed over by rich fuckers. Fucking greedy bastards doing bad business and reaping odd rewards.

I've only drank once, at Bdubs, the whole time I've been here. That's because this fucking state won't cash my check.

I don't have much more to say right now. So, tootles for now. When I come back there better be some more posts.

Stop screaming Hock....

With Hock's increasing need for a break in boredom, here are some things in my life:

-September 25th, I will be seeing Brand New (for free!) at the Breslin Center, top-billed with Nas (meh). I see this show as a chance at redemption since it was so disappointing show at Lollapalooza. Now I get to see them inside (yay for acoustics)! And hopefully they will expand their repetoir to not only "Devil and God are Raging Inside Me" and only a few tracks from "Deja Entendu." I am really hoping that they do not jsut plug their newest album again and totally disregard their previous efforts, which were amazing. Fingers crossed.

-October 2nd, I will be seeing Umphrey's McGee (surprise!) in Kalamazoo. This will be my 5th time seeing them this year and 23rd over all. Yes, I am obsessed. I can't help it. Amazing musicians + breathtaking songs + everchanging setlsts = David's boner.

-October 19th, I wil see Minus the Bear in D-Town. This should be interesting. I have no idea what they sound like and the guy I am going with I haven't seen since I stopped working at Domino's. But MtB rocks and should prove very awesome. I hope they play everything from "Menos el Oso."

-September 23rd, sneak peek of "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist," Claudio, you in?

- I miss Mike. It's only been a few days, but lonesome is a very mean mistress. Hope all is well, my friend.

-I miss my Marky. Who bist du? Sind alle gut?

-I have recentl watched all of "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared." Two Judd Apaotow joints. All very great. I especially liked Undeclared (better than F&G). Jay Baruchel makes awkward, hilarious. And there are so many crossover actors from show to show. I highly recommend both.

-I am starting to watch the entire series of Gilmore Girls. Just finished the first season and am currently downloading the second. I have already seen the 6th and 7th season, so it is really weird to know how the series ends and now start it over.

-I am always looking for new movies, but, alas, my internet has been gone for about a week and a half. This sucks. It should be back by tomorrow. (more finger crossing)

-I just saw "The Sasquatch (Dumpling) Gang." It must have been by the same people that do Napoleon Dynamite. So very awkward and funny. Watch it.

America's in the Shitter

After watching a bunch of CNN and with the collapse of Lyman and Wall Street, America sucks. The prices of homes are down by at least 25% and government spending doesn't seem to be slowing down, especially with Bush being able to side step his books. Hey, the price of oil is down, until everyone starts filling up. To top it off, I am on the fence between who to vote for for president. Obama is a child with immature ads and McCain is a republican.

So why am I watching CNN? Well, because I'm a corporate employee...in training. What that means is that I can't socialize with anyone here in training (but I probably will) or anyone working in the office. So I'm stuck here in the hotel. Today I didn't mind because I just took a nap. Eventually I'll start going to the bar, reading, or learning everything there is to know in existence from the internet because for some reason things won't download from torrents with any speed so I gave up for now and won't have much to do. The fucking TV has no A/V inputs or any inputs what-so-ever so I can't play Xbox either. Though, I did watch Californication with David Duchovny on Showtime. Gotta say, it's funny, Duchovny rocks.

Right now I should go to bed, but Adventures In Babysitting with Elisabeth Shue is on the Oxygen network (don't judge me!). Much love guys, I miss everyone.

Who is that pale skinned creature?

Well, I have done it. I managed to scrape together a buttload of time to watch fifty new installments of good and not-so-good cinema. Here they are in order in which I watched them. Let me know, as usual, if anyone wants to know anything about any of them. I'll comment on the ones I liked and disliked, more than normal.

Drillbit Taylor, I'm Reed Fish (I really liked this, it's a movie inside a movie), In Bruges (three HP character actors are in it!), The Bank Job, Rush Hour 3 (crap, especially without subtitles), Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Kickin' It Old Skool (shit), Royal Tenenbaums, Meet Bill (a surprisingly cool movie), Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (OMG, Rico is back!!), American Pie Presents Beta House, Tropic Thunder, Leatherheads, I am Legend, Smiley Face (hilarious stoner comedy), Smart People (not a movie for everyone, unless you get a boner for words, like this guy), The Ten (excellent), Enchanted, Forbidden Kingdom, Tuck Everlasting, Penelope (Christina Ricci is still hot, even with a pig nose), The Spiderwick Chronicles (Seth Rogen's voice steals this movie), Crazy/Beautiful, Drop Dead Fred, TV: The Movie, Kinky Boots, Chaos Theory, Mr. Brooks (creepily awesome), The Aristocrats (offensively hilarious), Run Ronnie Run! (a real David Cross masterpiece), The Magic Roundabout (aka Doogal), The Chumscrubber (a semi-fucked up take on Generation Rx), Zathura, Wonder Boys (totally worth seeing for Michael Douglas as a pothead professor), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (awesome!), The Killing of John Lennon (a look into the messed up head of Mark David Chapman, the man who killed one of the greatest musicians of all time), Boxing Helena (sucks), Full Metal Jacket (Kubrick is a genious), SiCKO (enlightening), Puddle Cruiser (a very good try at comedy fromt he early Broken Lizard guys), I Heart Huckabees (really good), The Last Boyscout, The Usual Suspects, Zodiac, Down with Love (littered with sexual innuendo), Baby Mama (disappointing), Watching the Detectives (pretty decent), Speed Racer (nauseating, right Scott?), Chasing Amy

The loner comes out of hiding, kinda.

As I stated in my last post, I was going to post the inordinate amount of time I spend in my room watching movies on my Lap-tastic. Well, here it is folks:

I have reached 50 new movies since the last time I posted a shit ton of movies!

I had to go through many stages to reach this almost impossibly depressing feat. Most of them involved theft (downloads, biatch). I searched the best films of 2006 and 2007, the best comedies, all animated films, etc. Instead of just leaving them in a list like last time, I figured I'd categorize them. This way, if any of you hooligans want to know if a movie is worth seeing or not, there will be an easy way to reference. (FYI: I never once thought after any of these movies that I had completely wasted my time. If you have as much free time as I do, please, see them all. If a studio sinks tons of money into something, chances are there is something that could possibly make you laugh or think. So don't be so judgemental.) Here we go.

Movies I actually saw in the theatre:

Best: Pineapple Express
Worst: I guess Space Chimps, but it was so hilarious ::cough::stoned::cough::

"And what was the 50th movie I saw?" you may ask yourself. It was actually my favorite movie I saw out of the fifty...it was a beautifully touching story of a man dying and trying to reconnect with his son.

Life as a House.

It is starring Kevin Kline, Hayden Christensen, and Jena Malone. And Cottonmouth, Ian Somerhalder is in it (ow ow). Go see it, it is awesome. I actually cried. It is the onyl movie of fifty that has been able to do it.

On the Topic of Movies

From what I've read, the next Terminator film will shoot for a PG-13 rating. I think that is complete bullshit! The other 3 Terminator films were all rated R, and they were better for it.

The same was talked about for the new Robocop movie, which needs to have an R rating to be any good. That movie was all about violence and to shoot for anything lower than an R would be nothing less than atrocious.

This brings me to my point. I saw Step-Brothers earlier today. It was pretty hilarious (overall it was meh, but it definitely had its moments). They could only achieve what they did because of an R rating and the movie was better for it. That's what I hope for Hollywood to realize. I hope they ditch the need to make movies to appeal to the masses. I say, FUCK anyone who can't see an R rated movie without guidance. They can wait, or they'll always find a way to see it so it doesn't matter. The sad thing is that shooting for a PG-13 rating ultimately gives studios dollar signs in their eyes because more people pay to see it. I say fuck that, movies make so much money nowadays that there should be a law against making movies that clearly should get a R rating, and shooting for the PG-13 rating. Fuck the masses, lets get movies for adults as they were meant to be seen!
