Superbad...

This three cd collection of 70's soul, funk and groove sees a number of well known singers combined with other contemporary artists to produce a nice trip down 70's groove lane.
Featuring:
Theme from Shaft - Isaac Hayes
Little Ghetto Boy - Donny Hathaway
Street Life - Randy Crawford
Superfly - Curtis Mayfield
The Ghetto - also Donny Hathaway
And Many, Many More!
Oh shit, that's not what I meant to do...Ahem:
I believe the question would be, "Is Superbad funny?"
Clearly, the answer requires more than a simple "yes" or "no". The answer must encompass everything that the movie stands for. It must be clear, concise, and to the point. The answer, my friends, is this:
This one picture sums up the entirety of this movie with one simple name: McLovin.
From the moment the movie starts, with its quirky and extraordinarily well done opening sequence, this film is a blast. The movie begins with the two main characters, Seth and Evan, discussing what kind of porn site they are going to subscribe to when they arrive at college. Amazingly, this leads to Seth staring straight into the wonderful cleavage of Evan's mother as she ushers them off to school.
Throughout the movie one can tell that the dialogue was written with sincerity - exaggerated for the sake of comedy, yes, but the characters came from the minds of men who had similar experiences in high school. If there is a recipe for cooking up the perfect teen comedy, this movie nails it. Yes, the premise is similar to that of American Pie, but it does not even matter because Superbad blows it out of the water. With fucking canons loaded with HAHA missiles that midgets wearing cowboy hats are riding while JohnnyFuckinAmazing claps near two nuns wrestling in a tub of lasagna. Purple Monkey Dishwasher.
In most teen comedies the movie relies as much on sex as it does on a well written script and delivery. Superbad does an amazing job of using sex as a verbal tool and not flooding the screen with tits and ass. Usually, the teen comedy almost dictates that one see at least five minutes of female nipple or women in bikini's washing cars/swimming/getting fucked several different ways in my mind during one of the boring parts. Yes, there is some T&A, but it is used sparingly and only for the purpose of adding to the comedy.
One of the things that I loved most about this movie was how close to home much of it hit. I am sure that many people will feel this way and for a very good reason: In high school, nearly everyone feels awkward, nervous, and completely weird at some point or another. Hell, the friendship between Seth and Evan reminded me of several friendships that I have held in my own life.
So, is Superbad funny?
Crude humor, ridiculous antics, phenomenal delivery, and very little reliance on sex appeal make this one of the funniest and best movies I have seen in a very long time.
All this in a just under 2 hour run time. Sexy.
