Eau de vie or water of life...

"These products were developed by starving farmers who knew they had to use every little bit of their produce or die." Says Stephen R. McCarthy, owner of Clear Creek Distillery.

Made in Portland, Oregon, McCarthy is not limited to just pears. In fact, "Last year Clear Creek moved to a much larger building in a district of low-slung warehouses, allowing Mr. McCarthy to add two more stills, double production and introduce a line of fruit liqueurs in flavors like cassis, cherry, pear and — that Northwest touch — loganberry."

I am definitely willing to pay the shipping on this. At 80 proof a bottle, it sounds like a delicious way to get classily smashed.
