A meteor eh? Try again...

Check this shit out that I found on Discovery News. There is a very good chance that scientists have discovered what actually killed the dinosaurs and most other life back all those years ago. This is friggin amazing if it is the reason, and judging by the content of the article, it appears to be a damn good possibility!

Let me know what you think!

More News You Don't Care About

Today, more shit on Wall Street. World insurance giant, AIG, was bailed out of financial turmoil by the federal government to save them from bankruptcy. They were given $85 BILLION! I don't know what this will mean in the short run, long run, any run, but I hope it pays off in the end. On paper this sounds very smart, seeing that AIG controls trillions of dollars in insurance and investments and if everyone lost that, then the world would be fucked. So...I hope this shit storm ends soon...because the USA is supposed to be a world money leader, not poor as fuck.

On a related note, what's up with anyone on the news blinking 100 times per minute? I can see the people not wanting to look like they are reading the teleprompter, but what about everyone else? They all do it.

The Dark Knight Exclusive Trailer

This trailer is found on YouTube but was exclusive to Dominos Pizza for a while. If you have not seen it, it is the best trailer thus far and by far the most disturbing as you listen to the Joker talk...the dialogue from 0:48-0:57 is just chilling.

GOD I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Dont We All Miss My Rage Against Religion?

And this one could stem into an interesting debate on the "who" actually did the fucking in the rape of the Native Americans. The "who" could be something bigger than the pilgrims. Hell, it could be the Catholics.

Excerpt from Hegel’s Lectures on the History of Philosophy concerning the rules Catholic missionaries established for the education and civilization of Indians:

I even recall one missionary used to ring a bell at midnight to remind the [Indians] to perform their marital duties. Because it would have never occurred to them to do so.

So then, the question becomes; What the hell is wrong with missionaries. All jokes aside, where does this train of thought come in to play? Do you really think that a group of people would need a reminder to fuck? Wouldn't said group's existence alone be enough to prove that they do, indeed, fuck...?

I'm Scared

So I'm gonna pretty much detox for a while. No drugs, limited drinking, no smoking, and I'm going back to the gym. Oh and no hooking up. I made a bad decision and went home with someone and Ben found out about it, which sucked, and it made him really sad. But we just both said we're not gonna talk for a while and were not gonna hook up with other people til we're over each other because basically, he said I'm too good for that. Which is really nice, and we just left it on very good terms. But I'm pretty nervous about cleaning up... I feel like it defines so much about me. But this'll be good for me.

I know my sitch with Ben is fucked up, I know we're weird, but I feel good about this.

I know this is awkwardly written, I'm smoking the rest of this bud, or just throwing what I don't use away

Hurricane Bisco

Here is a clip of Hallucinogen and Ott playing at Camp Bisco:

The first segment, please notice:
How awesome the music is
The lovely tapestries on either side of the stage

The second segment please notice:
How awesome the music still is
The fact that this clip has just been edited to look trippy - that is NOT the storm

The third segment please notice:
The lovely tapestry blowing directly into the crowd - check out how fast the wind is blowing - you can even hear how much it distorts the sound!
The number of people still dancing - I myself was looking around in wonderment somewhere in front of the white tent

How ridiculous is that shit. It was blowing DIRECTLY at us. Apparently security was afraid the whole stage was going to TOPPLE ONTO THE AUDIENCE and pushed them back from the front.

Hallucinogen and Ott are amazing:
some full clips of songs from the concert are here.

Response to the UF video

I have to state despite all of my support of this guy that the VERY ending of the video was kinda stupid on his part - it is technically illegal to travel without a form of id, and to not give his name seemed more of a publicity stunt when he realized he would be renowned. As well as the "they're going to drag me off and kill me"... HOWEVER
BIG BIG BIG However

I can't even tell you how honestly sick I felt watching this. Most embarassing is the policemen's COMPLETE disregard for what John Kerry said, the unnecessary force used, the overreaction to his yelling. Has anyone ever been to a legit open forum? There are people who yell OFFENSIVELY to these speakers that less is done about. And in front of a full audience as well. The cops involved in this are probably going to get in a lot of trouble, even though he should not have tried to pull away from them (doing that is never really a good idea, because that put them in the right, sadly enough). It still is unbelievable that the situation arose as well.

And I hate to say it, pigs, but the definition of riot is:
1. a noisy, violent public disorder caused by a group or crowd of persons, as by a crowd protesting against another group, a government policy, etc., in the streets.
2. Law. a disturbance of the public peace by three or more persons acting together in a disrupting and tumultuous manner in carrying out their private purposes

good luck getting him on that charge. And resisting arrest will probably fall flat with 25-50 witnesses testifying against you. Hooray for public court of law.

Think of Me Tomorrow

At around 12:45. I have my call back, and I'm pretty nervous about it, so good vibes would be highly appreciated.

I'll keep y'all posted on what happens, and if I DO get in, I hope you'll try to come see it.

It's been 10 years

On August 31, 1997 Diana, Princess of Wales was killed in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris, France, along with her companion Dodi Fayed, and their driver Henri Paul. Fayed's bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones was the only car occupant to survive the accident.
Most reports and findings concluded that the cause was a car crash occasioned by a chauffeur, who had consumed too much alcohol and had lost control speeding whilst trying to evade press photographers. There was controversy about the initial finding.

At the entrance to the tunnel, their car lost control, swerved to the left of the two-lane carriageway and collided head-on with the thirteenth pillar supporting the roof, then spun to a stop. There was no guard rail between the pillars to prevent this.

Dodi Fayed and Henri Paul both died at the scene. Dodi Fayed had been sitting in the rear left passenger seat and appeared to be dead. Nevertheless, fire officers were still trying - in vain - to resuscitate him when he was pronounced dead by a doctor at 1.30hrs. Henri Paul was declared dead on removal from the wreckage.

The Princess of Wales, who had been sitting in the rear right passenger seat, was still conscious and crouched on the floor of the vehicle with her back to the road. She was trapped in the wreckage for nearly an hour but the roof was cut off the car and she was eventually freed, alive, from the wreckage, and after some delay due to attempts to stabilize her at the scene, she was taken by ambulance to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, arriving there shortly after 2:00 a.m. Despite attempts to save her, her internal injuries were too extensive: her heart had been displaced from the left to the right side of the chest, which tore the pulmonary vein and the pericardium. Despite surgery, the damage was irreparable. Two hours later, at 4:00 that morning, the doctors pronounced her dead. At 5:30, her death was announced at a press conference held by a hospital doctor, Jean-Pierre Chevènement (France's Interior Minister), and Sir Michael Jay(Britain's ambassador to France).

Many have speculated that if Diana had worn a seat belt, her injuries would have been less severe. This speculation was likely fuelled by early media reports stating that Trevor Rees-Jones was the only car occupant to have worn a seat belt. However these reports proved incorrect: both the French and the British investigations concluded that none of the occupants of the car was wearing a seat belt at the time of the impact.

Kiznox...

What the fuck is with the Robophilia recently? I for one would rather we not venture down that path, because as science fiction has shown, the people with the financial means to buy such technology are the worst hands for it to be in.

It's all a little scary really. How far does the human race REALLY need to go in the pursuit of new technology. We've already made things ridiculously easy for ourselves (he says as he types a post on a laptop with wireless internet that will soon be visible across the globe).

We are going to destroy ourselves.

Greetings from Bloomington

after six and a half hours of miserable, sweaty, air-conditioningless travel, I made it to my new place. I really can't wait to give back my grandparents' fucking truck because it sucks and now that my little Ian is no longer shaking when he gets above 70 on the highway, I want to be able to drive him. I'm still running on about 4 hours of sleep after that amazing concert last night (more about that later).

I'm not so sure how I'm feeling right now. This is the first time I've felt truly displaced in my life. I was kind of a basketcase on the way up, because it's been a pretty good summer, and I don't really know how life works without my friends around.

My apartment's got it's ups and downs. I don't know how I can possibly set up my living room so it makes any sense whatsoever. The big open areas aren't big enough to comfortably fit my furniture and entertainment without looking super awkward, blocking a door, or leaving no one with a clear view of the tv. The kitchen and dining room being separate is kinda nice though, and there's a beautiful view on my porch (mostly of other apartments, but it's a really pretty complex). Also having two rooms rocks, but I have essentially no furniture for my "study" yet - I do need to get a desk for it and a daybed, so that'll probably fill it up pretty quickly. It's probably a slightly smaller apartment than I had last year, but seeing as how I'm living here alone, that's not an issue.

This living room issue is really pissing me off though. Who builds a room like this? It has pretty much no functionality, especially if I ever want to invite more than two people over at once. maybe if I switch the entertainment center to be by the door? That'll look pretty ugly when people walk in, and the outlets don't make sense for it, but oh well. Just thinking aloud. Well. Not aloud. But online.

My whole body hurts like hell, and I need to take a shower because I'm sure I smell like a pile of manure. So that's all for now. I'm feeling good about this entertainment center idea. So with that I bid you adieu.

P.S. I never thought I'd say this, but it's been ten hours and I miss Michigan more than anything right now

In case you guys haven't figured this out...

I'm gonna miss you all so much as of next week. Thank you all for making me a part of this so I can keep in touch.

Holy Fucking Shit Moment Of The Day

So a bridge across the Mississippi River, well, umm, collapsed earlier today. During rush hour, no less. I'm flabbergasted.

"A freight train was passing under the bridge when it collapsed and was cut in two" OH MY GOD!

What do you get when you cross President Bush and a Colonostomy?

President Dick Cheney, drunk with power and his hands on the Red Phone.

Dick Cheney

Personally, I am buying a helmet, stocking up on canned goods and water, sharpening the sword, and barricading myself in a room for the scariest two and a half hours this nation may ever see.

Why worry so much? What could one President possibly do in such a short span of time?

- Dispurse the troops to France, who would clearly fold, marking at least one victory for this vapid excuse of an administration.

- Use the Dark Side of the Force to choke Barack Obama to death

- Burn the Constitution

- Declare a State of Emergency, use the Red Phone, unleash an onslaught of missiles to all parts of the world, use the fire power of the Death Star to take out Alderaan when Leia refuses to give up the location of the Rebels.

- Bite the head off of a live baby and drink its blood at a press conference after having the Secret Police brutalize and then arrest every reporter

So yeah, for at least two and a half hours tomorrow, We're Fucked.
