Reason #453 Why iTunes Fucking Sucks

I hate iTunes. Not the program, which I like a lot, but the online store. The reason why? Tell me how this makes any sense.

With iTunes you can buy the tracks to an album, but when you do so you are not technically buying any sort of license to them. Let me explain how this works - tracks bought off of iTunes are in the format .m4p (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean). M4p files can not be uploaded onto basically anything, unless you burn them onto a cd (which will have dead space between every track because no cd burning software has figured out how to delete the 3 added seconds of silence - especially frustrating with cds that are usually conceived as a whole work). Once burned onto a cd, the SAME TRACKS can then be re-ripped onto your computer as mp3 or m4a files, for which there are NO LICENSING ISSUES.

How did this seem like a good idea? They could have just as easily not created their own new filetype and not worried about it. But instead, in order for me to have music on my facebook profile, I would have to waste a cd. Ridiculous...

Fuck you iTunes. THE ALBUM SHALL PREVAIL!!!
